Since the start of season 9 I have been debating whether the main Buffy series or Angel & Faith has been a more enjoyable book, and this issue has solidified it being Angel & Faith for me. This is an issue that can be enjoyed by any Buffy or Angel fan whether you have been reading this book from the start, have only been reading Buffy Season 9, or have never read a Buffy comic before since the issue acts both as a near self-contained story and a continuation of Christos Gage’s ongoing plot. Gage’s writing here is the best I have seen thus far on this title. He has written an issue that builds upon the events of the last arc and the series as a whole yet still allows new readers to jump right in. Gage introduces us to two new characters that both shed a little history on Giles and create an interesting dynamic for issues to come. Plus Chris Samnee steps in as a guest artist on this issue and his work does not disappoint. This is a great issue to pick up for anyone who has been curious about this series and should not be missed.
