If you are a fan of Angel or a fan of John Byrne, you owe it to yourself to pick this book up.  The first thing that stands out is how incredible Byrne’s artwork is, especially since it is just pencils without inks or color.  The detail he fits into each panel is stunning and he does a great job with both the action sequences and the quieter moments.   This issue is a lot of setup but I think things will pick up significantly in the next issue.  If you’re looking for a good Angel story with great art, you must pick this issue up.
