Another issue and another successful trip into the angelverse for any fan of the series that is reading this. Last issue contained the biggest cliffhanger of the series and when this 1st part of 3 miniseries was solicited I was slightly annoyed as I wanted more. However, Wheddon has not failed and knows what he is doing. That’s right, Buffy may be meandering along (I know some may disagree) but this book is a genuine success. The Art is a mish-mash of different styles, some of which are under par and the issue is split into 3 parts, each part focusing on a different character within the group. Does this work? Yes indeedy and the story of Lorne can only be described as inspired, not only with the tone of it fitting brilliantly with the pacing of the book, but also the personality of the character being brought out of the page by the bucket load. The other stories feature Spike (This is also a good little tale although could be better) and Connor (Who needs to get over the parent issues, I mean there are demons, dragons and people in hell on earth, pull yourself together! All in all it was another stunning issue though. I normally either pick things up in issue format or trade due to money but I may pick this up in both it is that AWESOME!!!

N.B I say it is awesome yet didn’t score it as high as it could have achieved due to other issues having fantastic art and cliffhangers.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 3 - Good
