Art by Bryan Hitch

I can't think of a concept more tired than reality TV in the Simon Cowell mode, and Jonathan Ross has come up with a concept that hits dead center of that mark. No matter how many penciled acrobatics the once-formidable Bryan Hitch throws on the page, this series about a super-powered American Idol combat TV show falls flat. And who didn't see the twist coming at the end, where the poor runt of the superhero litter turns out to be the most powerful? I don't think I can be counted on to buy a second issue of this anymore than I want to watch "X-Factor" on NBC.

Huh. I was underwhelmed by the concept of this book, but thought Ross managed to pull it off.
I’m also curious what you didn’t like about Hitch’s art.
Someone else put it best when they said that Hitch has been going for dynamism over detail, which has thusly made his cartooning and figurework look scratchy and indistinct.
Haha! X-Factors on Fox silly!
By the by, this issue was amazing!
