This was a big week for the comic book industry. With so many big name titles like: Avengers, Return of Bruce Wayne and ASM Grim Hunt all came out this week and in their own way delivered solid reads. But the book that stood out to me this week was American Vampire #4.

The funny thing is I was not even supposed to be buying this book. But after hearing and reading too many good things about it I decided to give this book a try. I was lucky enough that my comic book store still had copies of issue`s 1-3 so I managed to get all four in one swoop. And right away all my worries about this book slowly went away upon reading the 1st issue and were definitely squashed by the time I finished all four.

I have to give a hand to Scott Snyder and artist Rafael Albuquerque for delivering a great lead story which also manages to  give some shock and awe at some points of this issue. Writer Stephen King also delivers in his back up tale which for the 1st time in four issue`s manages to be better than the lead story.

Overall this book looks like it is going to do to vampires what Walking Dead has done to zombies. And with a great up and coming writer/art team of Scott Snyder and Rafael Albuquerque this title should become on of the best comic books out there on a monthly basis.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
