This was my pick of the week simply because it made me say “holy shit” out loud.

In a none-to-shabby weeks of comics this book stood out to me because it has one of those big honkin’ direction changes that make a reader really want to pick up the next issue.

The art in this book seems a bit more sketchy and rough around the edges. Not in a bad way, mind you, but in a way that really captures the feel of everything going to hell. I think it was a deliberate choice and one that gives a frantic kinetic feel to the book.

Apart from that there’s really not much new to say about this comic. Scott Snyder still proves himself to be DC’s best new talent and Rafael Alburquerque once gain proves himself to be the perfect fit for this book.

Story: 5 - Excellent

  1. I completely agree. This was a really solid issue, and the twist in it is completely surprising. I’m looking forward not only to where this will go from here (especially with the ending), but also for the Jordi Bernet drawn tale that starts next issue.
