MY FIRST ISSUE. This was my very first American Vampire comic book, and i loved it. I’m definitely considering completing this story arc. Since this is the very first issue i’ve ever read, i’m not so sure as to what the story is about; but here’s what i got from reading this one.
The story takes place during the second world war, but the american soldiers aren’t only fighting the germans and the japanese, they are fighting a vampire epidemic as well. There also seem to be several different species of vampires, which makes all the more interesting.
The story is very well plotted out, it keeps you turning the pages and submerging you deeper and deeper into this crazy vampire world.
The art is very rough, which i loved, specially considering what the story is about.

Great comic book, I’m definitely picking up the next issue.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. Nice review. You’ve summed up the arc well. Not only is the interior artwork great but the covers (also by Albaquerque) actually tell you what the issue is about. And if you line them up next to each other provide some foreshadowing.
