What a disappointment this event has been… Sure, it has its funny moments but the snail pace is boring has boring can be.

Dan Slott has written some great and some very boring issues of ASM lately and this falls short of being great. For two issues Peter has dodged the revelation of being Spider-Man with Carlie clearly overconfident in her newfound spider-powers and it gets repetitive kinda fast.

And Ramos’s art doesn’t help it either… Cartoony out of proportion and impossible poses just kills it for me. Some panels are just overloaded with lines and random polygonal shapes and it looks like a cluster-fuck most of the times where it loses its momentum and its “ohh that would have been a great scene…if it had been another artist doing it!”.

So far, Spider-Island was a good idea as a concept for a three part story but it’s just dragging a dead weight behind it and its kind of boring.

Hopefully future issues of ASM will be better or I’ll just drop this book (wow never thought I’d say that) in favor of more DC books for me!
