You know, for Guggenheim, this is fairly well done.  The only problem
is it’s a well-done story arc about a story I don’t care about.  The
spider-tracer killings, Menace, the mayoral race and the new lame side
characters being forced down our throats are the parts of the new
status quo that range from dull to infuriating, depending on who’s
writing.  For instance, I want to like Carlie, but every time, say,
Slott comes on, she (and everyone else) turns into a giant asshole.
Here, she’s fairly sympathetic, but I still haven’t time to build
enough of a connection to care about her being in danger.  Do like JRJR’s art, though, especially when he’s not rushed.  I’m
always afraid when I see his name that we’ll get the quality we got at
the end of World War Hulk, but his stuff here is solid despite the
issue frequency.  But,
honestly, I was nonplussed by the reveal at the end, and I’m still waiting to be really captured by this “culmination” tale.

And still, this is better than 90% of the stories we’ve got since OMD.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good
