I'm glad this short arc is over.
The art was enjoyable, but the storyline felt almost like a campy Batman TV episode from the 1960's series. Spider-man in the no-name bar, surrounded by bad guys, and the bartender's cheesy 'sanctuary' speech? Putting the Bookie on carnival rides, albeit tied precariously, to 'only scare him'? Having OX get stuck in the bumper car? Ox turning himself in with no problem? The anti-smoking proselytizing?
Sure, they continued part of the larger story arc about the Spider-tracer killings, and they kicked off what seems to be some new arc involving a mystery healing and Aunt May.
Coming off the great previous arc by Slott (who I usually don't even like that much as a writer), I hope that the next one is better. If this arc continued, I would not be tuning in next week, same Bat time, Same Bat channel......

i agree i didn’t like this arc as much as slott’s last one, but i still enjoyed it. i much prefer the occasional campy entertaining story to the months of "aunt may is dying what can i do?" that we had last year. i think they have been doing a good job mixing the funny and serious and really have enjoyed the tone of BND.
the anti-smoking stuff has got to go – i get quesada’s no smoking deal, which i am fine with, and last week’s issue was ok, but 2 issues of the guy coughing every time he talks was enough – i don’t need the no smoking lecture every week.
Anyway, enjoyed the 2 issue arc, looking forward to the next issue written by 3 writers – sounds cool.
Both Bob Gale arcs so far in BND have been a little much in the goofy dept. I love Slott’s arcs 100%, but the others I’m finding less satisfying. I’d rather they’d stuck to a monthly schedule and just put Slott on the book.
