I’m relatively new to comics. I’ve been a Wednesday guy for almost 2 years now. I never read Spider-Man before Brand New Day. I didn’t read One More Day. I’m glad I didn’t.

I love Amazing Spider-Man. This book is a lot of fun. I love that almost every time I go to the comic shop I get to buy an issue. I love the editor’s notes in this book. They’re funny! I like the fact that in every issue Peter always thinks things are looking up and then on the very next page he gets crushed yet again. The book feels old school to me. It feels like I’m reading a Marvel Essential. It’s a little campy. It never takes itself seriously and I love reading it every week.

The artwork on this book has been consistently fantastic. For a book that comes out 3 times a month it keeps a high standard of art. I wish other books could be this good.

If you’re a Brand New Day hater then get over it. The “damage” has been done and it’s time to move on. Seriously, it’s time to move on.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. very well said. and your point about the editor notes is a great one – they DO give this book a very cool, old-school marvel type feel, and that helps make it a bit more fun. it really feels like a "comic book"
in the best sense of the term.

  2. i also like the old school feel and have been loving BND.
