This review is terribly late because I’d saved this book to read, having enjoyed issue 1 so impossibly much.
As with the other reviewers, though, I found issue two to be a bit of a step down. Some of the pencils really seemed rushed compared to issue, #1, like… a lot. Story is still compelling.
The back up was FAR too compressed for my taste – it seemed like I was reading storyboards or Cliff Notes to a story it was so impossibly fast and not-fleshed-out. I know these one shots and backups (like the current Secret Avengers and the former Jonah Hex) have to kind of short-hand the set-up, but this was just break neck.
