I would not be getting this series if I didn’t have a lot of faith in
Van Lente to make it worth my time, and I’m glad I did get it. This
issue toned down the idiosyncratic and idiotic future speak of the
alternate reality where she’s from, and was much more enjoyable for it.
I know the future will sound different from now, but a lot of the time
it just sounds stupid to try and extrapolate it. If this book never
said gynosure again, I’d probably give it a perfect score. Anyway,
focusing most of this in the present was good. I thought the NPR couple
was a bunch of smug assholes. When you live in Marvel’s NY, you have to
come to expect people flying into your high rise apartment, and
furthermore, do you really want to stand up to them? I liked the second
apartment a lot better, with the couple running away in the background.
It would only have been more awesome if it was some random hero like DD
or Spidey in the bed and they showed up later in the issue. the stuff
in the alternate reality was a lot more interesting this time than
last. I liked the not Jocasta, especially since it had the name Ismene,
which makes me question if Pym would have had a hand in designing it
with Jocasta. Regardless, I like the purpose of the facility. The fight
was pretty cool and I love how it ended. I’m not going to review the
old Sensation She Hulk story because it was just a bonus thing and had
no effect on the out come, though it would be nice if they brought it
up in regards to the SHRA, and Alan Davis is a great artist.

Story: 4 - Very Good
