I’m sure many people pass this over because it seems so clearly for kids, and I guess it is, so’s the cartoon, but that doesn’t stop it being amazing.

But sadly that’s what I did, I love Dinosaur comics (which Ryan North the writer of this does www.qwantz.com or the more hilarious www.chewbac.ca if you want to check it out (they go to the same place)) and I had really enjoyed the cartoon yet somehow I passed it over till this issue.

Which was clearly a mistake.

This issue ends an arc, so you might want to wait till the next issue but it’s fairly self-contained enough that you can pick it up and still find yourself laughing aloud as you read it and enjoying the story. The tone is exactly like the cartoon i.e Hilarious. And there’s wonderful little captions at the bottom of each page that if you merely scanned it you might miss but which just add to the humour, much like the alt text on a webcomic.

The art is clearly not breathtaking, I read this after reading Saga and the art in that just blows me away, but I can’t rate it any less than a 5 because it is doing what it is meant to do perfectly, it just wouldn’t work as well even if it had painstakingly hand painted landscapes by some world renowned painter.

I hope maybe more people will pick this up, it deserves to be getting a lot more ‘pulls’. If only because it is perhaps the most perfect gift for any kid you might know/have, even if it’s just the kid inside of you.

Story: 5 - Excellent
