Now THIS is a comic!
I was worried when I found out that Johns/Manapul would no longer be writing this title. I was worried when I heard this title would be crossing over with New Krypton. I was even more worried when I heard it would be doing this twice this month. I love it when I’m wrong.
For the past two issues we’ve had 3 stories per issue and I couldn’t be more thrilled with that. Coming off the high I had with the Superman 80-Page Giant, I’m really digging comics that have more than two stories in them.
The Brainiac 5 story was really strong, detailing why Braniac fears his legacy while giving us a nice history of the previous 4 Brainiacs.
The Superboy/Supergirl/Legion story was great for many reasons, but I laughed when Superboy was yelling at the Kryptonians. It seemed like something we’ve all wanted to say to them.
The final story with the Kryptonian spy in 7734 continues to grow as we just how hard it is to maintain cover when someone you’re attached to is put in the crosshairs.
I’ve never been more glad to be wrong than I have the past two issues of Adventure Comics.
