I really liked how this issue started.
It had a great sense of military operation, like the better issues of Checkmate. I liked how the Black Zero worked together and I especially liked how it fell apart.
The face on Ursa was kind of odd though. It seemed like the artist wanted to make her look like the one from Superman 2 but couldn't quite get the face right.
I liked the exploration of what role religion plays in Kryptonian life, even though I thought it would be more interesting to keep it closer to Hinduism than Catholic.
Really, the only thing I didn't like was that Thara and Chris seem to have a romantic undertone, but this issue makes it abundantly clear that Chris still has the mind of a 6 year old. I don't care how old his body is, that is just creepy as hell.
I do hope that eventually Non gets fixed, but I like the way his charcter is used right now, so it's not a pressing concern.
I really liked the stuff with the Brainiac tech. It is really cool how they positioned the Zod-Superman-Brainiac triangle. Really good issue, creepy love subplot aside.
