A finale of book run with Superman in it. That should be enough to hook someone to read it. Sure enough it got me hooked to buy and read the issue. However, as i read the whole issue, it’s becoming apparent that villain that Supes is fighting here is someone that i couldn’t about. i’m not saying the Vyndtvx is not a formidable foe but sorry i just cant engage myself enough knowing that everything i see in almost half of this book takes place in the mind of superman. That air of inconsequence really waters down the threat in the story. Aside from that, i did not have any other trouble from this book. The art is solid, the dialogue makes sense even in every dimension and level. I was satisfied with the last few parts of the story and i’m happy to report that despite the problems of this whole story, morrison can still deliver a good bookend to a hero that sorely needs some recharging.

  1. i just cant engage myself enough knowing that everything i see in almost half of this book takes place in the mind of superman– are you talking about the brief 2 pages where he was hallucinating from the red K? Correct me if I’m wrong, but the last few issues were taking place in a multi-dimensional, time-crashed setting where VYNDTVX was attacking at different points in Superman’s life all at once. That’s how everyone was able to witness the fighting and such. The backup in #17 helps explain it a little.
