It’s unfortunate that this book had to come out at the same time as The Mighty and Irredeemable, two stories that did a much better job at telling the story of a rogue superhero.  Because, while it doesn’t really stack up against them, it’s not a bad story.

Gage focuses more on the rogue hero than the team that surrounds him, and that gives you a more introspective look at the hero, as opposed to the slow reveal you got in the other two titles.

Not very many people seemed to have read this series, but if you see it in trade, pick it up and give it a flip through.  It’s one of those reads that you probably wouldn’t be willing to pay full price for, but you feel like it’s a treasure when you find it in the bargain bin.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good
