As this is of course two separate stories, I’m going to split this up into two seperate mini-reviews.

Part 1: Iron Fist and Doop

Ever read a comic, get to the end and think “I’m not really sure what happened, but damn, it was great”? That’s the best way to describe this. The story, by Kathryn Immonen took me a second readthrough to actually get what was going on, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It was a fun ride, featuring the teamup you never knew you wanted. The art is done by David Lafuente, who I haven’t seen since his tenure on Ultimate Spider-man, and it seems that since then, his style has gone a fairly radical change. Again, not a bad thing. It’s got more of a thick line quality to it than I’ve previously seen from him, but it’s as expressive and dynamic as ever. Story: 3, Art: 5

    Part 2: Loki and Sinister

A nice little tale written by the always delightful Kieron Gillen. Loki and Sinister definitely make an interesting pairing, and if the ending is anything to go by, this won’t be the last time we see them together. The art by Joe Bennett is nice, but I guess after reading a Lafuente story, I had slightly higher expectations. Overall, it’s pretty good, I feel the real payoff will come at a later date. Story: 4, Art: 3.5

    Story: 4 - Very Good
    Art: 5 - Excellent
