So excited to have a good Nightwing book again. It’s been so long, and he’s one of my favorite characters in all of comics.
Thanks for a great show and, especially, for my Patron super-power; looking out the window today in Scotland, I can use it. It is, as they say here, dreich.
Don’t doubt that you’re entertainers, but you’re also informative and entertaining, the BBC of comic podcasting.
Between lockdowns last year we managed to get away to Madrid for a long weekend, and ate at a place called Museo del Jamón… gorgeous ham everywhere! Put it on your To Do list – or better still, franchise it!
I was hoping you would cover Alien #2 if only for a Salvador Larocca rant. It was pointed out to me that Salvador Larocca drew himself as the main character of the comic and I can’t believe it happened. He should not be drawing that comic and frankly it’s embarrassing. Maybe this should have been an email question, but I don’t know if I can think of a time at a DC or Marvel comic where something like that occurred. I’ve seen people draw themselves in as cameos, but never the main character. Salvador Larocca just doesn’t have the chops honestly and relies too much on real people including himself.
Pizza! It’s even worse than you described: Dick and Barbara are holding the pizza with 4 fingers on top, thumb on bottom. Like if you were holding a sword sideways in front of your face. That’s gonna ruin your sleeve.
Homelessness! At least since the 2008 housing crisis, there are plenty of clean homeless people.
Journalism! Like him or not, Rich Johnston is a journalist. He has sources. Good rule of thumb is ‘do they provide information that the companies don’t want you to know.’ He does that, or at least ‘certain factions within the company don’t want you to know’. Frankly he relies on official press releases less than most state department reporters.
