Comments

  1. It says a lot about the quality of X of Swords being a 22 part event and not even on the radar of iFanboy. While there’s been a good thing here and there, it’s been disappointing.

    • They covered X of Swords: Creation #1 as a Patron pick on 750 and Josh hated it where he said he wasn’t sure who it was for while Conor wasn’t a big fan. They’re not going to cover something they don’t like with 22 parts and the person covering it best is Tiffany on Comic Pop. She has been reading Excalibur and X-Men and is all in on X of Swords where iFanboy is not. That’s fine since not everything will appeal to everyone. I’m not the biggest fan of the Apocalypse family retcon and his reasoning for believing in survival of the fittest. I just won’t read every issue of this event where it’s way too much.

  2. Agreed that this run of FF has been such a joy to read. When FF was gone it didn’t feel like Marvel to me, and in the hands of a less capable writer they can easily not work. Slott really is a great fit here. If he doesn’t have an affection for these characters then he’s extremely good at faking it. Sometimes a writer goes on a book and as a reader it can feel like they are struggling to pinpoint what is the fundamental value of the property. Slott seems to have identified the fundamental values of the FF here and when a writer does that they can make the silly and annoying stuff fit better. So I’m on for the ride until they take him off the book.
