  1. There are not two more diametrically opposed ideologies than Doomsday Clock #10 and Heroes in Crisis #9. Doomsday Clock was about explaining Rebirth with its most recent issue and Heroes in Crisis was about killing it with Wally West’s fate. Tom King said he came up with the story, but he was told which characters to use with Wally, Booster, and Harley. Doomsday Clock was announced as monthly originally where if that happened, then it finishes by December of last year. Plans have changed and Doomsday Clock isn’t being built to at this point. DC has been very disorganized and Bendis jumping changed things along with Snyder having more and more insane ideas starting with Metal.

In the last year, many writers have been kicked off of comics at DC which is really concerning. Benjamin Percy was kicked off of Nightwing and replaced by Scott Lobdell who admitted to sexual harassment years ago while keeping his job. Joshua Williamson was kicked off of Justice League Odyssey and replaced by Dan Abnett without a press release. James Tyrion was kicked off of Detective Comics when his run was supposed to hit 1000. Tom King was taken off of Batman early where City of Bane is now 11 instead of 8 issues. A lot of people including myself predicted that he would get a Batman/Catwoman series to finish it up. Brian Azarello’s third issue of Batman: Damned still hasn’t come out and he was supposed to write a Suicide Squad comic with Wally and Captain Cold on it after Heroes in Crisis, but who knows if that is happening now. He has taken shots at DC on Twitter. Year of the Villain is supposed to make DC more unified, but I would rather ignore Heroes in Crisis and go with Doomsday Clock even though that is not happening.

  2. Anybody else notice that the Martian Delite ice cream in Clark’s apartment had Oreo Chunks. Great little reference to Martian Manhunter being obsessed with Oreos in the old Justice League book. (although I thought they always called them chocos to avoid copyrights?)

    • Nope, they were still referred to as Oreos during JLI. It was only later that they weren’t allowed to call them by that name.

  3. 1.) Stiff penalty this week if you didn’t read your books.
2.) Always makes me happy when you guys talk about Deadwood.
