  1. I’m having an “Economic Crisis” paying $3.99 for more for these F’ing comics!

    But I digress…

I actually wouldn’t mind paying this much for 22 pages of comic if the story didn’t take less than 2 and a 1/2 minutes to read. Brevity has always been one of the little “quirks” or “stylistic trademarks” of Tom King’s writing, and I’ve had a love / hate relationship with it, but come on man, this is a CRISIS book! Explain some shit!

I recently re-read Crisis on Infinite Earths, the classic 1985 crossover that started it all. I was amazed at how much STORY you got for a measly 75 cents! Issue 7 alone took me 22 hours to finish!

    SO. MANY. WORDS.

    But I digress….

I suppose the moral of the story here is…

They don’t make’em like they use to. 😉

  2. I don’t like Heroes in Crisis since Tom King’s portrayal of Booster Gold has been horrible which started with the Batman arc among other things. Booster is not that stupid and inconsiderate where he was written so well in Injustice 2 by Tom Taylor. Harley getting the drop on the Trinity was insane too and just unbelievable. Then killing off Poison Ivy offscreen with her name being mentioned as a death is just terrible writing. We still don’t know which Green Lantern was killed from the first issue since you saw part of the body. The ring should have left the body to find someone else while recording what happened. It doesn’t make sense where that’s a huge rule that has been broken. I’m still surprised that you both didn’t criticize Action Comics #1004 from last week with Lois calling Clark “Baby” 5 times where he didn’t have her voice down. It was too much.

  3. I also am not a fan of the Stark family shake up they did a while ago. It really killed my enthusiasm for Iron Man comics. I’m all for taking risks and shaking up the status quo, but it feels like they screwed with the character too much that time.

I liked the Josh distilled Booster down to a D&D alignment. It always warms my heart when someone says Chaotic Neutral.

  4. Wow, that sounds like an awesome song that you started the show with. Very Dr Feelgood-ish. Definitely gotta check out this band – and, ya know, the rest of the song.

  5. In response to James R. and his question about the fellas reviewing old superhero films, by pure coincidence, after tuning in to this most recent episode, I scrolled back to #448 at random and was delighted to hear a highly amusing discussion with Paul Montgomery about his first full viewing of Batman ‘89, 25 years later. You should check it out, it’s a treat.
