Pick of the Week Podcast

Pick of the Week #634 – The Avengers #2

Show Notes

It was a week of comics, neither great, nor terrible. Perhaps not full of standouts, but, as it turns out, there’s plenty to talk about. Inkers get their due. We tease the heck out of our upcoming Booksplode, we play, “Is this Garth Ennis?*”, and we call something stupid.

*It is.

  1. A question about the Star Wars comics

I’ve been reading the first trades in the marvel Star Wars series by Jason Arron and enjoying it.

Would I have problems with spoilers and continuity if I was to jump onto collecting the book monthly when the next story starts.

Plus is any of the dark horse stuff good, specifically the old republic stuff.

    Thanks
    Great podcast as usual
    Ben

  2. Nice inner discussion to start the show guys. They are highly underappreciated. The penciller sets the stage, but what we see in the panel.is what the INKER laid down. They can make or break a book (As evidenced by multiple inkers on some books).

Aquaman has been amazing (art and story) so thanks for hitting on that book. I’d like Abnett get a crack at Batman and do.somerhing similar over there (big, flushed out, layered, soap opera style stirytelling) because I never feel shorted after reading his Aquaman like I do with some other books.
