  1. It feels like Tom King is going back through old cell phones and mining past relationships for his books.
Josh seems like he’s almost where I am and have been for a while.
I am at the point where it’s wearing on me.
The writing talent is there- the formula is tired.
I want a touch of ‘real world’ emotional elements with my superheoes but I much prefer that expressed more in metaphor
than an episode of a better written cbs drama.

  2. I am loving MISTER MIRACLE, each and every issue. Have realized it’ll likely be one of these stories where the ending (re)interprets the entire narrative, which I’ll then want to reread. So on these initial reads, I’m not trying to drive myself too crazy trying to figuring out what stuff like the “TV disturbance” effect means, or if Scott’s in actuality moving through an afterlife, or if he’s naturally crazy, or being Anti-Life’d by Darkseid, etc. Am just enjoying the museum-calibre artwork and fascinating characters and plots, giving me everything from wacky comedy to blossoming love to depressing doom. Am also reading Kirby’s early 1970s MM run (for the first time!), which is terrific in its own right, and a few pebbles of its style and story ripple into the new King/Gerads run.
