Doing the podcast is fun and all, but let's be honest, listening to the 2 of us talk to each other can get repetitive, so we look to you, the iFanboy listeners to participate in the podcast! "How can I get in on the fun?" you may ask yourself, well here's how:
- E-Mail us at contact@ifanboy.com with any questions, comments or anything that may be on your mind.
Please don't forget to leave your name and where you're writing from and each week, we'll pick the best e-mails to include on the podcast!
Sentry died during Siege (end of Dark Reign). The Fallen Sun review that Ron and Josh did (Conor was off that week for some reason) is still one of the highlights of iFanboy for me. You guys rarely go negative, so when you do it’s super impactful.
“If I was her, I’d try to be sexy for my man.”- Josh
That was great. If I was drinking I would have almost certainly done a spit take. Also, the beat where Connor was not sure how to respond.
Out of context, or perhaps in context, that sounds horrible.
Have you been reading JLA rebirth?
I personally really like it.
We read the first rebirth issue but did not read any further beyond that.
That’s a shame
I feel it really picks up and brings back some great villains, Lobo is written so well, he is amazing in the first annual.
Some parts of it are very wacky and you either love that or hate it, I love it.
I personally was not inspired by the one shot and i only stayed collecting it monthly after the first trade came out.
My hatred of Lobo knows no depths.
Not the book for you then, lol
🙂
Batman was also colored (coloured) by Jordie Belaire.
Correct.
A couple of things, guys: Bilquis Evely was the artist on Rucka’s Wonder Woman who took over from Nicola Scott. Also, that Sgt Rock story that you didn’t understand why it was there as it wasn’t a Christmas story, that’s because it was a Chanukah story – with the “light” in the soldier’s eyes lasting for eight days when it should have only lasted one, as well as the general plot of a Jewish soldier standing up to and outliving an overwhelming enemy. I think Tom King said as much on Twitter.
And I just noticed that I basically just repeated what someone messaged you on Twitter and Tom retweeted!
Totally agree on the Pick, great comic overall. So when the DC Holiday Special 2017 came out last week, I bought it digitally, enjoyed it, allowed a ComiXology update, was pleased to see the classic Silent Night of the Batman appear as a bonus… and only today realised the Max Landis/Francis Manapul story Driver’s Seat has disappeared. But why? I can’t see any babies in microwaves…
I just noticed that too. Wow. Interesting…
Clearly, superhero comics today are being marketed toward middle-aged men. They advertise for Toyota instead of Lucky Charms. Batman and Superman both have adolescent sons. No wonder we’re seeing an older, warn out Batman; writers are writing for their audience.
In being terse with my question I was unclear—apologies. I couldn’t agree more that looking at a full page is the essence of reading comics. I always look at full pages first and last. But I may have been reading comics longer than most of the fanbase—learned to read on Barks, bought Showcase Flash and Green Lantern and FF #1 on the stands—and my eyes reflect that. So to get the detail within a panel with the iPad, I value the panel view. But you answered the question—there really isn’t the equivalent for book reading software. Thanks!
