Pick of the Week Podcast

Pick of the Week #756 – Hellblazer: Rise and Fall, Book Two

Show Notes

It starts off a little rough, and there is concern about Josh’s mental state. Further, we never promise it will get better from there. But onward, we forge, with a lot of Donald Blake and John Walker confusion. There’s also comics talk and plenty of it, with a surprising Marx Brothers diversion.

  1. No discussion of DCeased: Dead Planet #5? That’s a bit surprising and I was excited to hear you both talk about the staff moment which was incredibly cool. Maybe there’s not much to add right now, but it didn’t follow up on the cliffhanger of issue 4 which is coming and had great character moments.

  2. The Thor/Blake discussion was interesting, because I thought Jason Aaron established that the person becomes Thor. That was the conceit with Jane Foster, that by becoming Thor it expelled all the chemo drugs from her system, making it so that she could never get better. If she were just trading places, why would the drugs get ejected from her?
