  1. Conor sportscasting Bing Crosby like a commentator trying to decide if Tom Brady has lost a step just before he wins the Super Bowl because “he was 50 and not as vibrant as when he was 30 or 40” was cray. Yeah at 50 no one really can expect a person to deliver words in the same way as they used to. I mean does Bing Crosby even lift bro? What does he bench now? He was an actor in a film and he was plenty young enough to ‘talk’ vibrantly. Did he do his own stunts? I don’t know since there were not any. I think always looking for the angle where someone drops off is a weird quirk of this podcast.

Ron isn’t just drinking the Disney Plus kool-aid, he’s on a bender.
Disney Plus is great for and OCD Disney-head. Need to see Bambi or Flubber 100 times, Disney+ has got you.
The Mandalorian is Fantastic- kind of amazing and worth it alone but ruling out using Disney+ as a babysitter or a digital movie collection for FANatics it’s pretty devoid of compelling content. But the Mandalorian is worth it alone. For now.

Star Trek Discovery is to use a ‘Ron’ – “Hot Garbage”
It’s a show built on faulty framework, multiple show runners, re=tooled- retooled and lots and lots of angry crying.
For me, it has burned multiple chances.
It could be a fine generic sci-fi show but as a Star Trek show it’s a mess of a mess.
    And it’s also built plagiarism – https://www.reddit.com/r/StarTrekDiscovery/comments/a4oy5t/plagiarism/
Discovery basically ripped off All the actually interesting ideas from thhis video game – the spore drive – Tardigrades- Same Sex relationship engineer directly from this.

When you compare the level of writing- acting- directing- design of two legacy properties like Star Trek Discovery and Star Wars= Mandalorian you see the differences immediately. One is a genuine reproduction that stays faithful to the source material and even innovates a few improvements and the other is a Bodega action figure knock off.

    Pluto Is delightful.
    Peacock is useful.

Josh is right about Appletv. Normally I think the Appletv ecosystem is a bear trap of a thing but I have to admit they have more content worth watching for a price that isn’t Apple product money and that surprises me.
But that Charlie Brown sh*t was a real dick move. You can say it was business but smart business would have been predicting the backlash for a move like that and not doing it.

Netflix is making some real flexes that don’t work and spamming content. I almost never turn it on anymore.

Prime is finally- finally getting there. After a lot of well funded- acted really Earnest dramas, shows like Get Duked-The Boys- Good Omens and Wayne show some real creativity and engagement.

  2. The nice thing about A Nightmare Before Christmas is that I can watch it multiple times between Halloween and Christmas.

  3. Of all the “takes place during Christmas” movies that should be considered Christmas movies, “Die Hard” is on top. The plot is driven by Christmas – John’s out there for the holidays, the action takes place at an office Christmas party, and Argyle plays “Christmas in Hollis” because John wants Christmas music. Oh, and the “Ho, Ho, Ho” and Santa hat on the first dead guy! Definitely a Christmas movie.

  4. Big shout out to Connor for adding Holiday Inn to our Christmas list. Watched it last night and it has earned a spot in the top 10 (well, co-shared with White Christmas). Never knew this existed so thanks for the assist and Merry Christmas!
