iFanboy #256 – J. Michael Straczynski, Amanda Conner, and Jim Lee at San Diego Comic-Con 2012

Show Notes

We gathered up a batch of DC Comics heavy hitters for this one, including a couple of firsts for the show.

First up, we talk to J. Michael Straczynski, and talk about what he’s got going on with Before Watchmen, and his books Nite Owl and Dr. Manhattan. He talks about working with the genius Kuberts and their relationship as well as his take on how to do these books right. He also talks about what’s coming up with JMS Studios and all the content they will produce.

Next, we welcome artist Amanda Conner, who is co-creating Silk Spectre with Darwyn Cooke, and talks about the challenge of bringing this part of the story to life, and how to make it new, but also fit in with what came before. Watch for a special guest appearance by Jimmy Palmiotti.

Finally, DC co-publisher Jim Lee comes along to talk about the state of DC Entertainment, after The New 52 and Before Watchmen have hit the ground running.
