Talking pets are paranormal, right? Hellboy deals with paranormal stuff, so it's only natural that the two Dark Horse properties would team up. And so it shall happen, this Wednesday. Mike Mignola and Evan Dorkin team up on the story, while our guest, multi-Eisner Award winner, Jill Thompson provides the art in the way that only her talented skills can. It is not easy to get dogs to emote on paper, nor make it believable that they'd team up with everyone's favorite demon monster hunter, but Thompson does it, and makes it look so good. I always stick to a theme to the music when I do the Don’t Miss episodes. This was the biggest no-brainer selection to date.
Jill is a pretty fantastic artist, and I hope folks check this out on Wed.
Heh, no doubt. And big props for using the full album version, rather than the edited version on Forty Licks, which leaves out, of all things, that beautiful guitar solo. Sorry, this is just my inner Stones geek coming out in full force.
And yeah, Jill’s great. I’d forgotten about this series actually so hopefully the one-shot will incite me to pick up the HC.
