I wonder if any other Marvel book could get away with an explicit homage to Watchmen? I feel like Spurrier is taking full advantage of the outsider status of David as a protagonist as well as this title within the X-family of books, and I’m loving it.
While I hope this book isn’t anywhere near the chopping block any time soon, I’d be lying if I didn’t take some small enjoyment in knowing that I’m an early adopter for this brilliant hidden gem.
Yes! Very high on my Marvel NOW! must haves, and really a rewarding “risk”. I always enjoy what you have to say about it Ken , but I haven’t gotten to my LCS yet, so don’t spoil too much :). It would be a shame to chop this book though. It serves as the much needed “Libertarian” party of the X books. Gotta love it.
