  1. Mmmm…very tempted, but it would make a nice little trade.  Think I’ll wait and see.  Anyone else?

  2. I’m intrigued for the War of Kings, so I’ll pick the first issue and see how it goes and decide from there.

  3. How many of the X-books are part of War of Kings?

  4. I’m so fuckin’ excited for this book.

@coltrane68, as far as I know, there’s only Kingbreaker. All the other X-Men are back on Earth.

  5. Normally don’t like the X-Men, but I’ll give this a shot. I’ve learned from the past big cosmic events that it pays to read the tie-ins.

  6. so what x-men universe is this in… and what’s the War of Kings?

  7. @mountainwindcat   This is a sequel to (a) X-Men Deadly Genesis miniseries (b) Rise and Fall of the Shi’ar empire arc of Uncanny X-Men (c) Emperor Vulcan miniseries.  It’s hard to say how newbie-accessible it will be, though if they are trying to bring people in for a big event, they’ll probably give all the exposition up front.

Now, from my personal take – Alex!  Lorna!   Rachel!  This won’t have to be good for me to keep buying it, but I do hope it is.  I liked ‘Emperor Vulcan’ quite a bit.

  8. Alex in chains!  Lorna a deranged prisoner!  Rachel a killer!

Okay, it wasn’t as good as I’d hoped, but I am commited.  I also have no judgment where Rachel Summers-Grey is concerned, so I can’t in good faith recommend for or against this comic.

  9. Oh, all those remarks just previous were estblished in previous titles, and aren’t spoilers for THIS issue.

  10. So this is the prelude to the whole War of Kings crossover event, with Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy, right?

Oh man, Marvel are so going to fleece me for cash in 2009.

  11. Good writing and art, the series is off to a solid start.  I kind of hope we see Gabriel get his ass handed to him before it’s all said and done though…

  12. I’m only in this because Havok is my favorite X-Man. But it wasn’t a bad read. I thought it was better than the Emperor Vulcan mini from last year.
