  1. I love that Wood is playing up the struggle between Storm and Cyclops. It seems so obvious, but most writers haven’t touched that storyline at all.

  2. I haven’t really given this title much thought before Wood came aboard, it just never grabbed me, He has made Storm so much more interesting and intelligent and a clever leader which is more than the filler of space she’s been resigned to the past couple of years. I kinda feel this first arc is establishing her, I can’t wait to see him really flesh out the rest of the team.

  3. I think Brian Wood is a great writer and fits very well to writing this book. Is characterization of every character is spot on. I really appreciate how he’s been using Colossus, not by constantly emphasizing him as the Juggernaut and instead as Piotr. Wood is also taking this book in an extremely fun direction that it should have been going towards since Regenesis, specifically Storm being secretive with Cyclops.

That being said, I still find the main plot of the proto-mutants not that interesting. This is a story that has kind of been done before in other X-Men stories. I really hope Wood has a better story for his next arc as I really don’t want to drop this.

  4. Wood saved this series for me. It was on the chopping block, and I gave him one issue, and its still on my pull list. Anyone who hasnt read his work on the current Conan the Barbarian series is missing out

  5. I’ve been loving the covers by Molina on this book since Wood has taken over. They seem almost like Mucha inspired Techo.
