  1. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  2. This deserves WAY  more pulls

  3. Of the X books in the 90s I never read the original X-Factor series regularly, but I’m willing to try this out. Mostly because I <3 classic non-cat Beast.

  4. Worth a shot!  I’ve heard nothing but good things about Simonson’s previous run on this book.

  5. Panosian’s art for this book looks AWESOME!

  6.  four dollars is just too high i’ll buy in trade!

  7. I’m just not sure about this title. X-Factor wasn’t, IMO, a great comic and I was never a big fan of the original X-team. And $3.99? I dunno, man.

  8. @Diabhol – This comic is made for Simonson X-Factor nostalgia fans, if it wasn’t your thing it probably wont be now.

  9. I’m all in for the nostalgia.  I really wish they hadn’t changed the costumes right out of the gate.

  10. I like the fact that this can’t cross-over with X-Men Forever as there are about 8 very key issues between their jumping off points.

  11. Midtown lists this with a 30% discount so I will be picking it up. I never read the original X-Factor but I plan on grabbing the Essential. The big draw for me here is the idea of a simple X-Book. Toss in some Celestials and I am there.

The art looks a bit cartoony in the preview, I wish they could have gotten someone who drew a more traditional style, That aside the dialogue takes you right back into this era. I think it will be a fun visit.

I sure do miss the Beast that shows up here, I am among the many who just cannot get into Kitty-Beast.

I am sure most online vendors will offer a decent discount on this one, I hope it does rate more pulls.

  12. @CaptainSweatpants I think they put Panosian on this book because his style is somewhat reminiscent of Walt Simonson’s work on the original X-Factor book early on. At least it seems that way to me! Check out his work on the book during the Fall of the Mutants storyline.

You are right. I spent more time looking at it after reading your comment and I agree.

I hope it is as good as I think it will be.

It sure is a nice departure from the current X-Over madness.

  14. Yeah, the $4 price tag is the only reason I’m not picking this up. And I was a huge fan of that X-Factor run. I still own all the original issues. $4 books are just making me buy less and less and this is one of the ones that didn’t make the cut.

  15. This was pretty good. A little bit of the "You can’t go home again" feel and the great 80s wordy, thought ballooniness, but all around… just fun! Great to revisit this time period. I love the original X-Factor run and this appeals right to me! Panosian’s art really fits the book and as WhiteSpyder said, it has a sort Walt Simonson feel to it. 4/5 for me. Louise, it’s great to have you back on X-Factor!

  16. Well that was everything I had to say ^

  17. in defense of the $3.99 pricetag.  You do get a back-up feature, with an untold origin of Apocalypse, and some text pages catching you up on the history of the X-Factor book up to this jumping on point.  Solid issue.  Anyone on the fence about it, should at least check out this first issue.  Plus, let’s support Louise Simonson, she’s written some great stories and I would love to see her get some more Marvel work.

  18. Thought the first issue had a bit too much "getting you caught up" dialogue in it. It is not completely out of place considering the time period when more comics had getting caught up dialogue in every issue to be consistently accessible to any and all newcomers, but I could have done without it considering they had a one page introduction and 4-5 pages of Marvel Saga-style recap in the back as well. Still, jumping back into a 20 year old storyline is not an easy thing so hopefully next issue can be all about moving the story forward rather than recapping what has ahppened until now.
