  1. Everybody loves Ben Templesmith, right? He does a book like Thirty Days of Night or (iFanboy favorite) Fell, and everybody falls all over themselves running to the store to pick it up and then sing its praises. Okay, some hyperbole there, but still, he’s popular, right? So why aren’t more people pulling this great collection? If you like his stuff, check this out. Well worth your TPB dollars.

  2. I agree with the previous reviewer.  Wormwood:  Gentleman Corpse is a tongue-in-cheek comic about a zombie and his motley crew who protect earth from demonic, occult, and alien attackers.  Calamari Rising represents what I consider to be the first real meat-y story so far.  Our first recurrect villains become more villainous.  I think you can jump on here without missing out on much.  The previous three stories arcs (issues 1-8 ) colorize Wormwood, but don’t set any can’t miss details except the quick appearance of the Calamari Rising villains.  While I personally won’t be picking up this TPB because I own the issues, I highly recommend it for anyone who A) has enjoyed Templesmith’s art in the past

    B) enjoys lighthearted, whimsical fairy tales that are subject to include transvestite leprechaun jokes, enthusiastic use of cocaine and hookers by demons on earth, and all manner of unexpected turns (think Preacher with more "otherworld" grit)

    C)  doesn’t know their butt from a hole in the ground, but wants to entrust me (mistakenly ??) to make a good recommendation !
