  1. I hope they eventually spread these titles out more. Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Action Comics, Earth 2, Worlds’ Finest, Dial H is almost too much to read for one week.

  2. No more power boobs!

  3. Not sure I like Paul Levitz as much as I loved Palmiotti and Judd Winick but I’ll give my beloved Power Girl a try.

    • He’s a little too old school for my taste. His Huntress limit series (which was kind of a prequel to this) was boring as hell. Hopefully the dimension hoping aspect of the story will be weird enough to overcome his style.

    • I thought Huntress was boring, too, but I like his Legion stuff. I hope having the awesome George Perez and the fantastic Kevin Maguire on this book make him up his game.

  4. PG has been changed and I am sorry there really was no reason to do what they did to her or her costume. It was her costume and her attitude put together that made her who she was; badass and super sexy!! I notice The Huntress did not change very much at all, huh?? I wonder why that is?? Don’t get me wrong I am a big fan of both of these characters and I will be buying this issue without a doubt and can’t wait to see PG back in action however; what else have they done to her??
Good Luck to us Power Girl fans right..

    K

  5. I was so pleased when I first heard that Power Girl was coming back but then I saw the new costume. I expected a change but not that much of a change I just hope that her character hasn’t changed as drastically.

  6. I think she looks good. But I think im getting this mostly for Kevin Maguire. Im really hoping this is good, but I have serious doubts.

  7. Earth Two and World’s Finest, two titles featuring characters from another dimension. Is this reality hopping, otherworldly stuff really necessary? Is DC NOT trying to create a cohesive, whole universe here?

  8. I’m giving it a 5 or 6-issue trial. If they don’t win me over in that time, it will become the umpteenth nu series I drop.

  9. I like the concept but I don’t know of I can handle 2 female protagonists!!

  10. I’m not totally sold on Power Girl’s new look but It’s an Earth 2 spin off so it has to be at least given a chance.

  11. So does anybody know how the art team is gonna work? Like is half the book maguire then half is perez, or alternating issues, or arcs, or is one guy inking and one is on pencils????

  12. This is the Earth-2 book that I’m most excited for.

  13. Man, I like that PG redesign. Now I can read a Power Girl book in public.

    • Check again.

    • Checked. Still good.

    • I agree. It’s a happy medium between the old Power Girl and their original revamped version.

I wonder if they were influenced by Marvel who also tried the lesbian haircut thing with Captain Marvel but then pussed out at the last minute.

    • Honest coincidence, I happened to read the first Power Girl trade (with Amanda Connor art) in public today. Not a problem. No need for shame about sexuality or the human body.

Anyways, though I do find the costume change a wrong move, it’s the 6-page preview that seemed very blande that puts me off this title. I will give the first issue a try though, for PG’s sake, but I already get the feeling it won’t have the character or fun of her previous series.

    • I know I misspelled Amanda Conner, and I know we’re not viewers.

    • @PsychoJudgeDredd

It’s debatable, whether we’re viewers. But I think we can agree our platform is respect for women.

  14. helena wayne right as huntress? Powe Girl was great read and glad to see her again. Her personality in her regular series really made me like Kara even more. Two Cents also, i would like to see Terra again. She was great too.

  15. Never read much of PG in her previous run. Is this pretty close? Because I found both heroines in this book to be great fun. Great stuff, this.

  16. Liked the first issue a lot. I really like both artists on the book but I am not sold on them switching back and forth like that. I prefer a little more art stability, but its not a deal breaker especially since it’s Perez and Maguire.

The story was good and interesting but I do have a concern. I picked up Earth 2 as well but I am a little put off it knowing that that Superman and Batman die as mentioned in the story here.

Oh well a very good start .

  17. Great stuff…Huntress and Power Girl have a fun chemistry that I’m looking forward to reading more of.

  18. Never read power girl or huntress before but decided to buy it after reading Earth 2 and seeing the *continued in World’s Finest box*. It was a solid issue and it was cool seeing what happened to them but I don’t think I liked this enough to keep it on my pull list. Earth 2 on the other hand was AMAZING and will for sure be sticking with it. This however I would give a solid 3.5/5.

  19. I thought this was much better than Earth 2 this week. I thought it would be the opposite. Really interested in seeing how the first arc plays out. Great interplay between the two characters.

  20. Earth-2 was a lot of set up but I can really feel it playing out in such a grand scale, I’m hooked. I’m not quite as sold on World’s Finest yet. I didnt feel any kind of gravitas for this, but perhaps it wont’ need it. It was a fun light read, but I did hope for something just a tad more meaty. It earned a pull for the next issue though so we’ll see how it plays out.

  21. Worlds’ Finest #1 was great. Both the past and present sequences were fun and superbly illustrated by Maguire and Perez. I can’t wait to see the girls in their new adventures and what they have been up to for the past five years. Since Huntress and Power Girl are new to this world, I wonder whether they ever acted as Robin and Supergirl during the five year gap. I’m sure everyone hates PG’s costume; the one in the original solicitations was much better, but I’m sure this will be corrected soon.

  22. I decided to try this at the last second.

We’ll see whether I decide to continue.

I was hoping I’d like this but am pleasently suprised at how good it was. Loved the interaction between Huntress and Powergirl.

  24. This as much as it some what painds me to say is up for the POW with RedLanterns and Earth 2, Earth 2 won the POW for me. This was another fine title, the artwork was very good and the story line was good and fed off of the ending of Earth23 very well. Why did I say it pains me, well…..I still like me old Power Girl and her old costume and have seen no reason for this to be changed!! That is my one and only silly complaint, go Worlds Finest!!!!!

    K

  25. Kevin Maguire’s art is amazing!!
