  1. I was starting to get a little down on this book, I think maybe because each issue isn’t always as satisfying as I’d like, but after re-reading the whole run so far, I’m totally back on board. Very excited to find out what the First Born’s deal is.

    • I had the exact same experience. I was on the verge of cancelling this, then I re-read the entire series and decided that the quality actually hasn’t dipped much at all and it’s close to my favorite DC title. In the last few months I’ve read other complaints online that resonated with my own experience, but after the re-read I am 100% excited about this book again.

    • Around #10 I limited my sub to #12. Then it went BOOM and I resubscribed immediately. Glad I did.

  2. This is exactly the sort of Wonder Woman story I wanted to read.

  3. In my top five since it started coming out. Fantastic book.

Though i hate that Lobdell has Orion in Superman in may. Le Sigh.

  4. Love that cover. Love this book. That is all.

  5. I hope Azzarello has a long run on this and keeps the focus mythological.
I’d also like to see a crossover with Aquaman with Poseidon playing a major role. History of the trident or something of the sort.

  6. Love that this series feels like it’s taking place in its own little corner of the New 52 universe – a very cool little corner. One of the few titles left that DC hasn’t fucked up by interfering with the creative teams vision of this Wonder Woman. Stellar work.

    • Agreed. I’m reading only three DC books right now, and this is the best of the lot (yes, even over Batman). I hope the Azarello/Chiang/Akins/Green/Wilson team stays on as long as they like.

And I liked the look of Amilcar Pinna’s fill-in pages, so he’d be welcome to come back from time to time as well.

  7. I always thought Azzarello was better when he goes outside of noir and those other genres. His run is probably the best Wonder Woman run to date.

  8. There’s been so many firsts during this run of Wonder Woman for me. Most notably, first time I’ve enjoyed the character with one of the other two members of the Trinity around but this issue had another one. The first time I’ve enjoyed Orion, I’m really liking him here.

  9. This was another great issue, it wasn’t until the end that I noticed the different pencillers involved, but I think they both did a fine job. The last page reveal caught me off guard at first, but the Gods have always been a sneaky bunch, so it fell in line with their reputation. Others have mentioned it above, and I also enjoy the fact that WW seems to exist in her own special corner of the New52 universe. I hope it stays that way for the time being.

Since the First-born was introduced I’ve been trying to figure out who it could be, and I’ve come to the conclusion that it just might be Zeus himself. Early in the series it was said that Zeus had disappeared, and though the moniker of first born doesn’t fit completely since he is the youngest child of Cronus and Rhea, this guy looks an awful lot like the Zeus depicted in a previous issue. That’s just my guess though; if anyone else has some theories, I’d like to hear them, speculation is fun.

  10. This is a fun series but I missed Chiang.
