WOLVERINE & JUBILEE #2 (OF 4)

Undead teenagers, can’t live with ’em, can’t shoot ’em…because they’re undead. Wolverine may be taking on his roughest mission yet as he tries to kick some sense into Jubilee and boy, does she fight back! In his version of Upward Bound, X-Men style, he’s hauled her halfway around the world to get her away from whoever or whatever is trying to frame her for mass murder. But this town’s got a problem that’s going to take their combined efforts to combat, and Jubilee’s pursuer is hot on their trail.

  1. the first issue was POTW for me when it came out. here’s hoping the keep the momentum going

  2. I didn’t want to buy this series.  I even made fun of it, but I really enjoyed the first issue.

  3. it’ll be nice if they just banged, wouldn’t it? Considering wolverine is proberly one of those guys that’s happy to read those softcore porn magazines in newsagnet and on the bus, he obviously would given the chance. She’s young and silly. girls have done stupider things.

Write a story about the serious results. Cyclops, the x-men and the avengers being shocked but having to look the other way because wolverine’s their most valuable assest.

  4. @edward  for some reason “She’s young and silly.” made me laugh outloud at my desk. truer words have never been said

  5. @edward  I see Wolvie as someone who’s more into the hardcore stuff actually.

Hope to see more of Pixie and Armor in this as well, those parts were the most entertaining to me about the first ish.

  6. @edward

    Um, ew.

  7. @Franktiger: oh, yeah, he definately has some filthy some stuff stashed away somewhere but you can’t buy full-on hardcore material in newsagents, right? maybe it’s different outside australia

  8. @edward  yea, maybe Wolvie likes them young, he likes to “rock-the-cradle,” you know.  Who knows, he was probably doing Kitty on the side, and once he was sick of her, he moved on to Jubilation Lee and Armor. As long as they’re over 18, right?  Now Pixie, she’d be the real catch yo, imagine her with those wings.

  9. we call it rob the cradle in australia.

if you fellas rock it, that’s cool too

  10. @Franktiger – Really, if you think about it, almost everyone Logan’s nailed has been cradle-robbed. Dude is well over a century old! He was hounding after Jean Grey for years, and she couldn’ta been far into her 30’s when she died. Prolly wouldn’t seem like that much of a leap to hook up with Jubes.

All these young ladies hanging around ol’ James, it’s surprising we don’t get more of the kinda storylines we got in the X-movies, with Wolverine’s young charges becoming smitten with him. I mean, it’s gotta happen. He’s this gruff bad-boy who acts like he doesn’t care, but you can tell he really does under all the spandex and body hair. He’s got a dangerous side, but maybe they can help fix him, help his control the moster within with their love…

Ok, I’m turning X-Men into Twilight. I need to get off the internet.

  11. @CaseyJustice  Twilight?  What’s that?

Noto’s amazing work saves this, there’s some witty banter there, but Immonen doesn’t quite get Wolvie’s character right, she’s just a little off with him I think.

    The heck’s an “enigma-meter”?

“And there actually is a temperature below which it is NOT safe to put your tongue on colossus.”  HAH!

  12. Certainly wasn’t as good as the first issue; the dialog and flow was a bit disjointed at times. Noto’s drawn facial expressions are spot on, though.

  13. Yeah, this wasn’t quite as good as the first issue. I think the actual storyline is what stood in the way of the issue being as solid. Sometimes I had to read sentences over again to figure what exactly what was being said. Some of the wordplay doesn’t work in text. (Much like a joke JMS did with the Thing talking about the Seine river implying Johnny wasn’t sane.)

  14. I will say Jubilee is way more interesting now that she’s a vampire.

  15. Loved the book, but absolutely hated the recap at the beginning.
