This is some of the best Golden Age daily comics strips this country has ever produced. Real ‘slice of life’ stuff. Totally within the indy market mind-set. On another Earth, this series was repackaged decades ago and became one of the first Eisner winners. As a young child learning to read from the daily and Sunday funnies in NYC, Gasoline Alley was one of the few strips that progressed from year to year. It was interesting to watch this word grow. My father pointed out the fact that ‘things changed’ in the strip, and we were in on it. Something else we could talk about.
