  1. New arc!  Good jumping on point!  Save this book!

  2. @Odds

    It needs saving? Link?

  3. ive heard good things about this book, i think i’ll give it a shot this week. Any of the iFanboys reading this? is it good?

  4. It’s really low on Vertigo’s sales list.  It seems this, Air and House of Mystery need some help.

  5. This and Air are doing about the same as DMZ. House of Mystery is doing way better. Young Liars however… is dead.

  6. I missed the last four issues (I’ll try to backorder them). Good thing this is a jumping on point.

  7. Man how can sales be low?  This is one of the best books out there!  I can’t believe it hasn’t been the pick of the week.  this is an amazing run so far.

  8. Sales are low because this book isn’t "fun".  It is one of the best books, this gets me every time I read it.  If you want to read something that tugs at a little more than superhero nostalgia strings (nothing wrong with that) I suggest picking this up.  Josh even said in a recent podcast or post or something that he dropped it because it was depressing…That sounds like an excuse to just not think about the entire continent of Africa.

"Did you hear about that civil war over in…?"

    "Africa?"

    "yeah"

"Don’t start, I don’t want to get depressed."

  9. I love superheroes as much as the next guy, but there’s nothing wrong with truth in comics, too. I guess some people wanna ignore stuff like this — it’s like Jack Nicholson said: "You can’t HANDLE the truth!"

  10. @ Wade…haha exactly!

  11. My local shop owner is trying to get me into this book so he gave me a copy to read. Haven’t touched my stack yet, but looking forward to it

  12. I am glad that this was a one-shot/interlude because I am not sure if the first issue of a new storyline would have been strong enough for me to keep this on my pull list.

  13. It’s been a loooong time since a book appealed to me so viscerally. I don’t mind that little has been told about (the secret past of) the main character b/c the real story has been the local history of the decade-long strife that serves as the canvas of the series. Too smart a book to see sales so low. And here I thought everyone hailed books for being relevant (isn’t that why O’Neill and Adams are still praised for 30 years later) … yet, commercially it’s touch and go. Frustrating.

  14. There is no Trade out yet, or is it? Vertigo titles sell better in trades. Wait and see.

  15. This book is way better than Young Liars and House of Mystery, both of which I have dropped.  I am a huge Vertigo fan, but those two titles lost me.
