  1. Is this gonna be Acuña’s last issue since I’m sure next month is Larroca & then it will be Mcniven?

    • Unfortunately, I think it is. I really wish Marvel would keep artists on books longer. Even if they double-ship them, at least get a semi-regular artist to keep coming back to the book. Acuna’s style has fit this series very, very well. Sorry to see him go.

    • That does suck, hopefully he’ll come back at a later date or just after Mcniven?!

    • Acuna is back on issue #13 thats his last issue, mcniven doesn’t start until #14.

    • Hm, good to know that we’ll at least get one more dose of Acuna on Uncanny Avengers after this issue.

  2. Definitely want to see Acuna return for a future arc. He’s a huge reason why I’m enjoying this title so much more than adjectiveless Avengers. Mcniven is okay, but he’s lost something since his Civil War days.

  3. Dropping this at the end of this arc.

    Budgetary considerations.

  4. Look at that cover. And they say modern comics are too dark.

Still really enjoying this. Acuna will be missed, but I’m too invested in the story to even consider jumping ship. This Remender fellow really knows how to spin a yarn.

  5. JML (@twitter.com/JoshMLabelle) says:

This hit a real sweet spot of cosmic weird and soap operatic melodrama a few issues ago, and with this issue I think it went a little overboard.

  6. Love this book. It’s an odd mix of weird sci-fi and melodrama but it feels like a classic marvel book. Rick Remender really gets the characters and has an interesting plot as well. 5/5

P.S. Not looking forward to the Larocca issue next month because its Larocca.

  7. Damn! Acuna killed it on this one

  8. Props to Remender / Cassaday for the homage to Uncanny X Men 251. A classic image from a great run

  9. Another great issue this series just doesn’t seem to ever disappoint!

  10. Oh, Wanda. … Wanda, Wanda, Wanda. You will never learn.

This issue was excellent. I absolutely love this title. Remender mixes epic sci fi with snappy characterization like no one else. I haven’t made it through my stack yet, but this is a strong contender for my POTW.

Also, the Apocalypse Twins have a holodeck. That alone makes this a 5/5.
