  1. I’m really enjoying this but as I have never read ANY ultimates prior to Hickman’s stuff I am a little lost every now and then. As in I didn’t realize Reed was a villain, Steve Rogers is not Cap anymore, etc. It doesn’t really take away from my enjoyment but I do feel like a lot of the reveals don’t have a real impact on me.

  2. Can’t wait for this! Hickman is killing it. Only hope that the majority of the art is from Ribic this time instead of Peterson.

    • I totally agree with you. This book is so good but I wish they would have had an artist that flowed better with Ribic. I just didn’t like Peterson’s art on the last issue. Can’t wait to read this. I actually kind of like the cover.

    • I saw a preview of this and it looks like Peterson is doing the majority of the art again. 🙁

I really hope that it’s all-Ribic as of issue #7, or else I’m just going to wait and start picking up the issue in trade. The Vol. 2 collection will begin with #7, so this seems like a good jumping-off point, if it comes to that.

I don’t mind paying $4 an issue for Hickman and Ribic, but if Ribic isn’t doing that much of the art, I may as well wait and get the softcover collections on Amazon at a price that would work out to about $2.25 an issue. This is a good series, but I don’t need it on a monthly basis if they’re going to start using a partial fill-in artist.

  3. This is a funny book for me, I was hating it but decided to give it a read through 1-5 again before dropping and I now get it and it’s fantastic. I think Hickman just reads better in trade/multiple issues at once.

  4. Honestly, I’m bored with this title…I like Hickman’s FF, but this just isn’t doing it for me…

    • I agree the last two have been kind of boring but in true Hickman fashion it feels like he’s setting up something big so I’m willing to give him a few issues to plant those seeds.
