Kieron Gillen unveils his epic new monthly series, launching with a special double-sized issue!  1945. Germany is in ruins. The war in the west can only be days away from ending. Threats of “wunderwaffen” to be unleashed by the dying Reich have become laughable. There are no miracle weapons here.  It’s over. It has to be over.

It’s not.  There’s been stories which have mixed enhanced humans and World War 2 before. There’s never been one like this.  See super beings in a whole new light as Gillen presents an epic new series that not only rewrites history, it redefines the genre.

  1. This actually sounds pretty kick-ass.

  2. Interesting idea and I like Gillen. But that is a hideous cover

    • Yeh I agree, I opted for the wrap cover which I think is a bit better.

Bit sceptical about the concept of this but I will give Gillen the benefit of the doubt for this double sized issue at least.

  3. Damn my store did not get this GRRRRRR….

  4. I left this on the shelf, but now wish I’d have gotten it. 🙁

I think I’ll see if the LCS owner will hold it – the LAST copy he had – for me until next week.

The interior art was very good.

It was just a heavy (expensive) week for me.

  5. This was wordy, but intelligent like the best Gillen books tend to be, and the art was very Avatar worthy (if you read Avatar regularly you know what I mean.) Yeah, it’s a bit messy in places but I’m hoping it will all sort out nicely in the next couple issues…I’ve actually been waiting for this book for a year and at 48 pages for 3.50, it’s worth the price of admission. Try this book!

  6. Loved it POTW

  7. My LCS only had 2 copies left, and that cinched it for me: I picked it up. At first glance, it looks pretty grim, but I expected that. I look forward to reading it. 🙂

  8. As a Gillen fan, I glanced through this on the shelf, but ended up putting it back. It seemed more blood and guts than character piece. If I hear continued strong of mouth, I may give it another look . . .

  9. Not sure how I felt about this one. Dialogue was good but the story felt like it was all over the place and the art felt like something from 90’s Top Cow or something. I’ll give it a shot next issue to see if it picks up.

  10. Quite disappointed I went out of my way to get this. I posted a review above. 2/5

    • It was a helpful review.

Like you, I went out of my way LOOKING for this book, since the first LCS I went to is now sold out of it.

The owner of the LCS I went to today will not stock this title, since it deals with something he does not want to support a title where Nazis win WWII. .

      Okay …

He’ll stock Black Kiss and Ferals, but not this…

Anyway I may not have missed all that much, it seems.
