  1. Very excited to get this.

  2. This series tops my "please complete this damn thing" list.

  3. Exactly.  I told my Fiance she had to read it after #1, but told her to wait until it was completed.  Now I envy her position of not knowing what a great series was started and never completed.

  4. So wait, this is a new series but the old series still is not finished, ARGGGG  Why am I such a sucker that I will buy this and thusly Marvel learns nothing about soliciting books that are not finished.  I;ll be over here kicking myself.

  5. Just to be clear – I LOVED the completed issues of The Twelve. So why can’t JMS get off his ass and complete three more issues? BTW I am a sucker and will purchase this to spite myself. Grr.

  6. They are tormenting me on purpose, I just know it. I was this very weekend lamenting the current state of The Tweleve and now they release this. Thanks. THANK YOU. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED TO HAPPEN. IN CASE YOU COULDN’T TELL, I AM BEING SARCASTIC.

  7. I really don’t want to buy this because of JMS not finishing his Twelve run but I realize JMS is about as reliable as he’s always been. Here’s a picture of the artist with an ironic quote from JMS about the original Twelve series:

  8. Does anyone know for sure if the main series will ever be finished or not? (I mean fact, not rumours)

  9. Shouldn’t MARVEL be one to blame here as well?  Why can’t MARVEL get off it’s ass and get somebody to finish this book?  I’m more than sure JMS has no claim on any of these characters.  I gotta think the editors know how the story was going to wind up… so get somebody on it and finish it.  I know people will say this is JMS’ vision and it’s his story and anybody else will cheapen it.  And I can totally understand that thinking. BUT I guess I come from a day when books came out on time and if they had to use other people.. so be it, but the books came out on time!!!!  Well mostly… I seem to remember NEXUS taking FOooorever to come out.   I mean really what takes you out of a story more?  A different name in the credits?  Or a 12 month gap between issues (Or in this case a never ending gap)?

So suck it up Marvel and finish the damn thing…

  10. What baffles me is how any of the parties involved could just give up on a project of such quality. You have a chance to make a complete, awesome story with incredible art, and you just leave unfinished 4 issues shy of the end. It makes me want to scream.

  11. I’ve heard that yes they are actively completing it…I think this is stronger than a rumor, as it was from Marvel editor interview.

This issue was a lot of fun.  What is it about this set of goofballs that is such a freakin’ great guilty pleasure.  The Witness at the holocaust.  Dynamic Man and his thou-protesteth-too-much homophobia.  Blue Blade and his lame jokes and ridiculous appearance.  Phantom Reporter being both the most ridiculous and yet most "real" character.  And Electro doing his impression of Hulk vs. Wolverine.  Fun fun fun!

So quit your complain bitches! 🙂

  12. After reading this one-shot I’d say stuff JMS, let Weston write the book and draw it on his own. Because he did a great job here.

Glad to see a ‘Coming Soon’ for #9 in the back of the book, though.

  13. Well…I’d say let Weston start something new…Volume II or whatever.  Either JMS finishes Volume I or he doesn’t.

  14. This was astoundingly good.  Some of the best Captain America in comics ever.  When he hit that guy in the stomach with his shield, you could see the pain.

  15. This issue *was* badasss. 🙂
