  1. I admire..I adore..I LOVE this book! So pretty to look at. So wonderful to read. This, is what comic books are about! Everybody pick this up. Its great.

  2. And let us not forget…IMPERIOUS REX!!! Its Namor! Love me some Namor!

  3. Namor looks like a Hanna Barbara character on that cover. Overall really liking this series. Generally one and done stories, simply told with wit and charm.

  4. Another cover with a blurb on the front, I wish they’d stop doing that.

  5. @Malecema: Why?

  6. The blurb is correct in its assessment, so I have no problem with it.

  7. I’m loving this series!

  8. Namor looks like Jack Knight

  9. My nomination for the next blurb: "Sloth love Thor: Mighty Avenger."

Seriously, one of the few series I’m buying in monthlies and trades (err, when it comes around). This is great.

  10. Samnee is invoking the Bill Everett look. I like it.

  11. Oh I would love this in Omnibus form. Its so pretty. I’d also love it in digest form because its a great book to give to young readers. Simple enough for young ones to enjoy; deep enough for all the older readers. I’ve got to stop gushing about this book, I’m embarrassing myself. Lol

  12. This book is full of awesome.

  13. Do you think this will get a hardcover?

  14. Aren’t all collections first put in hc?

  15. I can see I nice snazzy hc AND trade with Chris Hemsworth on a Borders or Barnes & Noble’s end cap when the film comes out next year. It will be Thor-Mania!!!

  16. Naw.

Brubaker’s Captain America was softcover for issues 1-25 until they came with the omnibus and premier hardcovers after the death.

Nova was softcover, but they tried an oversized hardcover that collected the first two trades that didn’t warrant another one . . .

BKV’s Dr. Strange The Oath is softcover only.

I’m sure sales have something to do with it, but I’m not exactly how much a series has to sell to get a premier hardcover or an oversized hardcover.

I’d buy this in a second in any hardcover format.

  17. @JimBilly & AmirCat:  I actually thought Namor looked like Jughead on the cover.  I hope Thor didn’t take his hamburger!

  18. @scropion Hmm. I always thought it was the other way around.

  19. @Conor:  It makes it look like an ad.  I know that’s basically what covers are but to me it makes it feel like a cheap movie poster.  I’m not losing sleep over it or anything, it just doesn’t sit right for me.

  20. But on a positive note, this series is piles of fun with great art so I’ll stop complaining…

  21. Maybe the best superhero comic going right now from the Big Two!

  22. Saw this in the book store when I went to grab a something else. Bought it and it was awesome. Picked up issues 3-4 today. If I like them, I’ll pick up issue #5 too.

  23. Did anyone else think the art on the very first page look a bit rushed and janky? Otherwise, the art is fantastic as it has been for the entire series so far.

  24. Awe Some!

  25. I was going to wait for the trade until I read somewhere it was going to be smaller than a normal trade (which I hate) so I’m going to just buy the monthlies. Fortunately my LCS still had 1 copy each of issues 2-4!

  26. THIS SERIES IS SO WONDERFUL!!! 😀 😀 😀

I totally agree with those of you who say this might just be Marvel’s best book 🙂
