This book has been a lot of fun so far!
I’m definitely curious to see how much of Kirkman’s “writer’s room” approach I can feel when James Asmus writes the next arc.
In general, it seems like comics allows a writer more leeway when it comes to personal voice, whereas it takes an exceptionally keen viewer to distinguish between writers on the same TV show.
Might drop this soon, it’s been 6 issues and it doesnt even feel like anything happened.I was surprised when I saw Issue #7 was coming this week, feels more like issue 3-4. Could just be bad memory but anyway you put it, probably not a good sign of my enjoyment of a book.
This screams trade wait. The first couple of issues were good but it really feels like it’ll read better all in one sitting.
This book started a bit slow, but wow, this issue blew me away. Turned all the events of 1-6 on their head. Very season finale-ish. Made me want to go back and re-read 1-6 to catch all the clues and things you thought were throwaway. If you dropped this before #7, you missed out. Though I will say it will probably be a smoother read in trade, the wait between issue really paid off in #7, as you see what all that build up was for. Great stuff. This has now moved to “must read” for me.
