THE UNWRITTEN #37

A year after The War of Words and nearly unbearable tragedy and loss, Tom Taylor’s life is finally coming together. But the real world and fictional world are both in turmoil, and the damage seems to be spreading. Before he can hope to heal it, Tom will need to find “The Wound,” part 1 of 4.

It’s the start of a brand-new storyline in a psychologically postapocalyptic world disconnected from the power of Leviathan and the manipulation of the Cabal.

Fiction is up for grabs and Tom Taylor stands at the center of that battle!

  1. Ooooooooooh yeah!!!!

Back to normal, no-more .5 issues!

  2. One of the best series that too few are reading. Just like my beloved Sixth Gun.

  3. I thought this was nearing the end with War of the Words, but I spoke to Mike Carey at Kapow and he said we’re only halfway through – he has another 30-40 issues planned.

  4. I love this series. It’ll be fun to see where Carey and Gross take this, now that Tom has beaten the cabal.

  5. Knowing this isn’t wrapping up anytime soon has made my day.

  6. The cover is almost an exact copy of the cover of a Neil Gaiman book (Fragile Things). I wonder if it was intentional or random.

    • Dude, good find. According to the copyright–Thanks Amazon previews!–, the cover of “Fragile Things” is an illustration from a comic stip called “Little Nemo in Slumberland” from the early 1900’s. Wikipedia that shit, it has a very interesting plot concerning a kid who travels to the dream world, or “Slumberland” ruled by a guy named Morpheus. I guess it could just be a wink,wink/ hat-tipping to Neil Gaiman, but my curiosity is now through the roof; seeing as all of the previous covers have had a lot to do with what the issue’s story entails. Well, this book is getting read first tomorrow.
