  1. Reading this for the JLI crossover. Can anyone give me a summary of the plot since Gail Simone left?

    • Ronnie and Jason went their separate ways after the falling out over the stadium attack. Ronnie is captured and interrogated by rogue Firestorms, but saved later by Pohzar. He loses a hand during all the nuclear energy absorption. Jason takes a job for Zither to find Hurricane and Firehawk. He witnesses them trying to stop unsanctioned Firestorms and they can’t stop a suicide bomb on the the Eiffel Tower. Cut to Ronnie disintegrating a bad guy during the battle earlier. Pohzar asks him if he wants to make them all feel that feeling more often. Jason inner monologues about them both being in way over their heads. He sees or hears a faint glimmer of either Ronnie or Prof. Stein, I’m not sure who it is really.

    • When Ronnie disintegrated a bad guy, did he cry about it for the rest of the issue? That’s why I originally dropped this. Same reason I dropped Simone’s Batgirl. Not just people refusing to kill in self defense but people crying that they couldn’t save the bad guys who were trying to kill them literally 5 minutes before. I was hoping that dynamic might have been abandoned when a new writer came along.

    • Yeah… Batman’s kinda been the same way too in his books (except for “Batman” and “The Dark Knight’). He’s kinda schizophrenic between letting a guy get cut in half by a train tunnel and worrying about Nobody.

I’m OK with “be better than the bad guy” but if they’re going to up and die by their own stupidity why not save the public some tax money? Also, if cops are GOOD guys and sometimes have to kill the BAD guys (usually not of the super villian variety) why torture yourself over it? I haven’t liked Batgirl or Firestorm so I’m hoping I don’t regret this crossover for JLI.

  2. To all those people still reading this series: Overall how would you rank it so far – in the iFanboy 5 star rating scale (art/story)

  3. Firestorm #9 was pretty cool, and not necessarily due to the JLI’s appearance, because they didn’t do much really. Jason was not his douchery self, and Firehawk and Hurricane are still cool. I liked Wrath from the get-go, so I hope we dont have to see Fury anytime soon.

  4. The artwork has been so good in this title and this issue is no exception. I have hung on since the begining and about three issues ago it really started to draw me in. I really prefer there was only one true Firestorm; Ronnie and Stein however, there can be some other ones here or there would be fun I guess. Just not digging the amount of Firestorms running around the world, although I am being drawn in as I look at the bigger picture.
