loving these covers. also not a bad book.
at first I thought it was a sarcastic self-commentary that “all the ladies on the cover actually show up in this issue.” But then I looked at the cover and thought wow, that really IS saying somethign!
Spoiler: Valkyrie didn’t really fight She-Hulk. At least, not in the way they are trying to make it look.
I really really really want to like this book. I would LOVE it to succeed. But I just cannot seem to get into it. There is not a lot to recommend this series outside of the fantastic covers. There is an amazing cast, but they don’t get many character beats to keep you engaged.
I’m right there with you. This book was damn busy. The art struggles at times, I wonder if it was drawn by someone else if it would fly better, because I “think” the story isn’t too bad..? But some of this bewilders me, I still don’t really understand how Dani came onto the team and she has had zero characterization. I haven’t read her since those initial days of New Mutants back in the old days so it would be nice if the writer re-acquainted me with her.
On the other hand, the Queen of the Amazons character has been totally fun, both artist and writer seem to be energized when she’s on the page.
Misty has been pretty much a one note character and she’s supposed to be the lead?!
