  1. First off:  I have absolutely LOVED! this series so far!  but…

I hate to say it, but this looks like the least interesting issue of the series up to this point.  The visuals of the cover and the concept itself don’t seem quite as unique and striking as the others(ie:  heroes with headlights/projectors for heads;  samuri and monsters in space).

Hopefully this issue will obliterate my preconcieved and somewhat lackluster(compared to earlier issues) expectations!  We shall see.

  2. The last 2 were sooo cool! Those ideas felt so fresh

  3. Hahaha…thanks for the kind words, and I do hope you dig this issue.  It’s actually Bob Schreck’s (my editor) favorite.  At any rate, be sure to post your thoughts after you read it, good or bad.  I’m glad you’re giving the series a shot.  Thanks everyone.

  4. I just read The Barefoot Serpent!(got it from the Top Shelf sale).  It was fantastic!

I ordered the book based solely on my very recent exposure to Morse’s work on Strange Science Fantasy.  I’m a big fan of Kurosawa, so I really dug the color illustrations of his biography.  Also, the themes and general sense of composition, due in  large part to the panoramic aspect of the panels, were dead-on in combing the two aspects of the work into one cohesive unit.

  5. I’ve really liked this series a lot. Great style and feel to it. Def check it out if you’re looking for something different.

  6. Well…This issue certainly obliterated my expectations!

I literally got the chills during the last seven or eight pages!

"MAN WAS BIG ENOUGH TO KILL HIMSELF, THANKS.  NO GODS NEED APPLY"  Absoulutey classic!
